Shillong Declaration on Children in Armed Conflict

Summary: This document is the declaration from
the first National Workshop on
Children in Armed Conflict in Shillong,
Meghalaya from 10-12 January 2002,
organised by India's NGO Task Force
on CAC.
The Shillong Declaration calls on all parties to armed conflicts in
India to respect international humanitarian law and observe
human rights standards including the Additional Protocols and
Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions and the Optional
Protocol to the CRC on the involvement of children in armed
conflict.
