The publication is the result of a research project to explore the
mechanisms for the promotion and protection of children's rights
in Ireland. It's terms of references were
To examine how arrangements for promoting and protecting
children's rights in their countries could have relevance in Ireland
and
To make recommendations concerning appropriate options for
Ireland
The focus of the research is not specifically on children at risk or
disadvantaged children in particular. Rather it looked at how t the
rights of all children can be protected and promoted in the
context of the UN Convention.
