Report of SEAP Region Workshop on Measuring Impact Effectiveness with a Child Rights Programming Perspective

The report of SEAP Region Workshop on Good Practices - a Child Rights Programming Perspective 17-21 October 05 responds to a need identified at the SCS SEAP Regional Child Rights Programming (CRP) Strategy Meeting in July 2004 to share good practices in CRP. This has been a need identified since the start of the CRP efforts in the region. Practitioners often do not have or take the time to document and share their good practices. Although a limited amount of documentation has been done by some Save the Children members and other agencies, the documentation has not been shared widely.

From this background emerged the regional workshop on Good Practice – A Child Rights Programming Perspective. The workshop took place in Bangkok between October 17-21, 2005 and included 21 participants from both South and Southeast Asia. The workshop provided a venue for sharing concrete examples of CRP good practices, and for inspiring thought and action on taking forward the development and practice of CRP. This report highlights the main ideas and thinking that came out of the workshop. It is not meant to be a report that chronologically recounts the activities of the workshop. Ideas and thinking from one session of the workshop may be reflected in various sections through out the report. Thoughts and ideas are organized in this report in a way that illuminates CRP as living concept and method for furthering the rights of children.
