Ministerial pledges on children welcomed by NGOs

Summary: The 7th Ministerial Consultation in Siem Reap,
Cambodia,from March 23-25 was attended by
more than 200 government, NGO and child
delegates from 26 countries in East Asia and
the Pacific. The outcomes feed into regional
and national plans of action for children.
The six NGO representatives at the Ministerial Consultation - Child Workers
in Asia, ECPAT International, International Baby Food Action Network, Plan
International, Save the Children, and World Vision – stressed that the
pledges now need to be backed up by national and regional plans of action
with clear timetables, adequate funding and participation by civil society
and children.
