Launch of new practical guide for civil society on how to use the UN

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has produced a practical guide for civil society on how to use what the UN says to get better implementation of human rights nationally.

The guide, called Practical Guide for civil society on how to follow up on United Nations human rights recommendations, will be launched at an event in Geneva to which NGOs are invited on Friday 29 November from 16.00 to 17.30 in Palais des Nations, room XXIII.

The guide describes a range of methods and activities that civil society can use to promote the implementation of human rights, as well as how to participate in and best use UN procedures and practices.

It is being translated into Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish, which will be shared in the coming weeks.

Those interested in attending the launch but without an entrance badge for Palais des Nations must contact the OHCHR in advance at civilsociety@ohchr.org
