Face_WSLOT (Woman See Lot of Things) Female ex-child combatants in Sierra Leone

Summary: Face_WSLOT is a project exploring the lives of
three female ex-child combatants in post-war
Sierra Leone and the psychophysical
adjustments they have undertaken in order to
come to terms with their past. The depth in
which they share their realities and opinions
clarifies the child-combatant routine existing in
many other countries.

Face_WSLOT exposes the subject as a multi-layered experience, using
different media such as sound, image, film and smell. All of the artworks
are the result of an intensive collaboration with the subject group.

This publication includes a CD of sound compositions created around the
voices, stories, and sound environments of these women; articles
providing a background and views of the topic by several authors and the
women; and documentation of the art installation part of the project.

The income generated by sales of this CD-book is directed towards
supporting third level education for women in Sierra Leone (TESI-WSL).
