CORPORAL PUNISHMENT: Global Initiative newsletter 22

At the end of 2012, the Global Initiative released its latest Global Report on progress towards universal prohibition of corporal punishment. The new year begins with the 22nd edition of the newsletter, reporting on a high level meeting at the UPR focusing on how to increase progress towards prohibition and packed with news of current discussions on draft laws and bills at national level, plenty of active campaigns and calls for prohibition, recent recommendations on the issue by human rights treaty bodies and more research studies to add to the growing bank of evidence to support calls for reform.
