The Center for Human Rights

To monitor the actions of the government, and other actors, in the fulfillment of child rights ;
promotion of these rights at the national and local level and ;
creation of a communication bridge between children and the State.

While the Center for Human Rights was created in 1998, the Institution of the Advocate for Children’s Rights started functioning, as part of the Centre, in 2008.

The promotion of independent human rights institutions for children represents an important aspect of UNICEF's Mission, whose long term advocacy efforts for the establishment of an institution of this kind resulted in important modifications to the legislation of the RM and the appointment of a Parliamentary Advocate for Children’s Rights in October 2008. The role of the newly established institution is to monitor the actions of the government, and other actors, in the fulfillment of child rights, promotion of these rights at the national and local level, and creation of a communication bridge between children and the State. For Moldova child rights are an emerging and evolving concept; thus, the well-functioning of the advocate for children’s rights institution is of great importance.
