Update on open-ended intergovernmental working group meetings

The open-ended intergovernmental Working Groups, established in accordance with Human Rights Council's decisions 1/103 and 1/104, will be meeting from 13 to 24 November 2006. 

 

The Working Groups are expected to adopt preliminary conclusions and recommendations to be presented to the Human Rights Council for consideration during its 3rd session. To follow the activities of the Working Groups, you are encouraged to visit the Working Group-related Extranet pages regularly.

The Secretariat has also been informed that the "International Service for Human Rights" (ISHR - NGO in special consultative status with ECOSOC) will be preparing an interim report at the end of Week 1 of the respective Working Groups meetings, as well as 4 final reports covering each of the 4 processes (UPR, Review of Special Procedures, review of complaint procedure, expert advice).
