Somalia: Torrential rains in Mogadishu damage and destroy IDP camps

In the past three days there was torrential rains in Mogadishu that damaged and destroyed the IDP camps and caused the the death of two children.

The rains destroyed the houses of IDPs made of sacks, and families and children faced difficulties due to lack of shelter, cold, rain, and mosquito infestation. Their situation has worsened because there is no functioning administration in Mogadishu and no functioning central government that protects families and children. The displacement in caused by conflicts, drought and poverty.

The SOCPD has provided 48 plastic bags for rains and 100 mosquito net.

SOCPD is requesting internatiuonal community to give their attention the Somali children living in conflict situation for the past 15 years and their situation is desparate.
