Report on Quality Life Programme for the Parents of disabled children.

RARE Sonepur with the assistance of the Central Board for Workers
Education, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. of India organised a
two days workshop on 23-24 April 2005 at the Conference Hall, Block
Office, Sonepur.

18 pair of parents from Sonepur, Kalahandi, Boudh and Bargarh attended
the workshop. Sri Ghasiram Panda, General Secretary of RARE welcomed all
the guests and participants.

Participants introduced themselves with a brief about their disabled Child.
In his speech the programme officer from Central Board for Workers’
Education Sri Dharmendra Ku. Mishra emphasised the savings and
investment on life. Sri Gourishyam Panda defined quality of life for a
disabled child and the role of parents.

Sri Adity Kumar (O.T.), Sangeeta Mahapatra (Spl. Educator, C.P.), Sanjeeb
Kumar Mishra (B.Ed. M.R.), Suresh Ku. Sandha, Advocate, Sabita Panda
(Spl. Educator, M.R.) and Ghasiram Panda, Social Activist attended the
Programme and discussed topics like disability, the living conditions of the
disabled in India, attitude towards the disabled, need of rehabilitation etc.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks to the participants, guests
and resource persons.
