India: Comics and HIV/AIDS

Summary: Save the Children organised the comics workshop with children from CPD (Children's partnership in development project) and a few other City based Ngos . The theme was on HIV/AIDS and it was a culmination of initiatives launched during the 'Lesson for life campaign'.

Four panel comics were developed by children under the broad categories of Prevention,Transmission, Myths and Misconceptions, Positive living and Care and support.

An exhibition of similar fashion  with the one  at the Oxford Bookstores Kolkata was held and  managed to attract quite a a large audience.

Most of the comics are in Bengali and  they are in the process of  being compiled and summarised in English in the near future in order to be sent to the WBSACS, DWCD&SW and other important external stakeholders in Kolkata to share the voices of children.
