Human Rights Council will hold a full-day meeting on child rights

On 11 March 2009, the Human Rights Council will hold a full-day discussion on the rights of the child during its 10th session. The Czech Republic (currently holding the EU Presidency) and Uruguay (GRULAC) are organising the programme for this meeting. In view of the 20th anniversary of the CRC, the focus of this year's meeting will be on the implementation of the CRC. The morning panel will be looking at the effective implementation of the CRC, while the afternoon panel will focus on implementation at regional and national level. A thematic UN Resolution on the Rights of the Child will be presented by the Czech Republic.
