HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL: Deadline for second round of UPR submissions

The deadline for submissions by NGOs to the 2nd round of the Universal Periodic Review session (scheduled to be held from 5 to 16 May 2008) has been extended to 
14 January 2008.

States to be considered at the 2nd session:

1. Gabon 2. Ghana 3. Peru 4. Guatemala 5. Benin 6. Republic of Korea 7. Switzerland 8. Pakistan 9. Zambia 10. Japan 11. Ukraine 12. Sri Lanka 13. France 14. Tonga 15. Romania 16. Mali

In response to queries from several NGOs, in light of the four-year periodicity of the first round of UPR, contributions from stakeholders should cover a maximum four year-time period.
