Summary: The Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists in collaboration with Kenya Alliance for Advancement of (KAACR) are organising forums for policy makers and NGOs to discuss the implementation of recommendations by the Human Rights Committee on the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). The NGOs forum will take place on 27th February while the Policy Makers Forum will take place on 28th February 2006 at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
 March last year, the Human Rights Committee considered Kenya's second Periodic report on implementation of ICCPR. A coalition of several women, human rights and children's rights organisations also prepared a shadow report. The committee considered both reports and came up with specific recommendations for further action by the government to enhance civil and political rights for Kenyans across the divide.  The forums will come up with concrete strategies for addressing the issues raised by the committee and monitoring of the implementation of the recommendations.                                                                                                             Â
