European Parliament reopens inter-country adoption for Romania

Summary: Today Declaration 23/2006 achieved a majority in the European Parliament and will become binding on Romania tomorrow. It calls on Romania to re-open the approx 1,100 pending cases of international adoption and to authorise international adoption where appropriate. More importantly, this indicates that the European Parliament is now taking a more proactive stance on Romanian childcare issues.
