ENYA 2012 Seminar took place in Warsaw

The European Network of Young Advisors-"ENYA" held its 3rd meeting (previous meetings : 2010 in Strasbourg, 2011 in Belfast) on 29-31 August, 2012 in Warsaw, Poland. The meeting was kindly hosted by Poland’s Ombudsman for Children and ENOC Chair, Mr. Marek Michalak.

The meeting brought together 16 young people, some of them with experience in the institutional care and juvenile justice systems, from 8 European countries. A larger number of young people had the opportunity throughout the year to discuss on the two main topics of 1) the respect of the rights of children and young people living in care and of 2) those in the juvenile justice system via the ENYA e-forum before they have selected young people to represent them at the Seminar in Warsaw. The two days discussions focus on the two subjects and aimed to elaborate concrete recommendations to be transmitted to ENOC members. The five members of the ENOC Bureau also participated in the Seminar and had the chance to exchange face to face with the young representatives.  Participating young people spent the last day of the Seminar by attending awareness raising activities on children’s rights in the context of the Janucz Korczak Year 2012.
