ENOC Chair elect at Save the Children Conference on banning corporal punishment

"Europe: a corporal punishment free zone. Banning corporal punishment and supporting positive parenting in all European countries"

Since 2011, Save the Children Italy, Lithuania, Romania, and Sweden have been promoting a series of activities to prevent physical and humiliating punishment in all settings through the Project “Educate, do not punish” founded by the European Commission – Daphne III Programme.

The Conference that takes place on February 20th in the Committee of the Regions in Brussels will mark the end of the project “Educate, do not Punish” and will provide a forum to share and discuss projects' achievements, results and materials with relevant international experts on corporal and humiliating punishment against children.

The ENOC Chair elect, Mr. Bernard De Vos (Délégué Général aux droits de l'enfant, Communauté française/Belgium) participated in the Conference on behalf of ENOC and made a presentation on the role of Ombudspersons for Children in banning corporal punishment against children.
