Call for project proposals to assist victims of torture

The United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture has started to accept requests for funding for the year 2007 for grants that will be used during the calendar year of
2007.

The call for proposals is limited to new applicants from priority regions (Africa, Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe), as decided by the Board of Trustees of the Fund at its 25th session in April 2006. Therefore, organisations that have been awarded grants in April 2006 are
excluded.

Grants will be awarded in a competitive fashion to organisations that provide rehabilitation services to victims of torture. Such assistance may be in the form of medical, psychological, legal or social assistance.

The application may be drafted in English, French or Spanish.

Application deadline: 15 January 2007
