The International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) is pleased to announce that in 2016, after a gap of 32 years, the ISPCAN Congress on Child Abuse and Neglect will return to Canada. The Congress will be held during 28-31 August at the TELUS Convention Center, Calgary. It will be co-hosted with the University of Calgary, which will also be celebrating its 50th anniversary. ISPCAN, Dr Jackie Sieppert, Faculty of Social Work Dean and Mark Hattori, Alberta Human Services Assistant Deputy Minister of Child and Family Services will co-chair the event.
The 2016 Congress theme is Protecting our Children, Protecting our Future. It is expected to attract approximately 1200 -1500 delegates, with a major focus on attracting professionals from developing countries. We are looking forward to a stimulating event where we can come together from all corners of the world to consider how best to protect children from being maltreated and maximise their wellbeing.
