Why do we want children and youth to be part of our movement?

The Child and Youth Finance movement puts the children and youth's right to financial education and access at the forefront. We think children and youth have the power to affect decision-making processes. Therefore, we are building a Youth Global Movement in which children and youth can make their voices heard and take action in reshaping the future of finance.

How does CYFI involve children and youth?

In order to get the active involvement of children and youth CYFI is organizing a Global Award Championship. Schools, community centers and young people all over the world are welcome to join the Movement and get one of our exclusive Awards in these three categories:

  • School Champion Awards, acknowledging those schools and educational institutions that have made the strongest effort in promoting Financial Access and Education for children and youth.
  • Youth Champion Awards, acknowledging the best projects carried out by children and youth promoting Financial Education and Financial Inclusion.
  • Child and Youth Finance Day/Week Champion Awards, acknowledging the school or organisation implementing the best activities during the Global Child and Youth Finance Day/Week, which will take place from the 15th to the 21st of March.

There will be one global winner and five regional winners for each Award category.

How to participate in the Global Award Championship?

Participants are requested to present their innovative projects and ideas on any of these five topic areas:

  • Financial Education: offering the opportunity to children and youth to learn about finance at school or other social settings.
  • Banking and Savings: promoting child-friendly banking services.
  • Employment: promoting orientation towards future careers and driving the attention on how to solve unemployment
  • Entrepreneurship: providing students with the capability to evaluate risks and opportunities and develop innovative skills and attitudes.
  • Technology: teaching how to use technology to help children and youth acquire knowledge on financial education and access.
