UN: 12th Inter-Committee Meeting of UN Treaty Bodies

Summary: The 12th Inter-Committee meeting of the UN treaty bodies takes place from 27 - 29 June. NGOs / NHRIs will have the opportunity to contribute to the discussions.

  • Venue: First Floor Conference Room, Palais Wilson, Geneva, Switzerland

The Inter-Committee Meeting (ICM) consists of all UN human rights treaty body chairpersons plus one member per committee.

A focus of the 12th ICM will be on "structure of the constructive dialogue with States parties; the structure and length of concluding observations; and interaction with stakeholders, in particular national human rights institutions and non-governmental organizations."

Civil Society participation

Representatives of civil society organisations are granted the opportunity to speak under each agenda item (after treaty bodies experts) and thus engage in a dialogue with the participants.
