Scotland: 3rd Annual Young Minority Ethnic Awards 2010

Summary: The Young Minority Ethnic Awards Scotland are a platform for the dynamic and inspirational minority ethnic youth of Scotland showcasing their successes and achievements.

The aim of the Young Minority Ethnic Awards Scotland is simple: to highlight the value of young people from Ethnic backgrounds who have inspired others and contribute to life in Scotland.

The Young Minority Awards Scotland aim to acknowledge, encourage, reward and most importantly promote the positive achievements of young Scots from minority ethnic backgrounds aged between 14 and 28 years.

The awards will:

  • Acknowledge & highlight the achievements of young Scots from minority ethnic backgrounds

  • Educate the general public with examples of youth achievement.

  • Encourage & motivate young Scots from minority ethnic backgrounds at all levels in their chosen field of endeavour.

  • Develop a sense of pride in being Scottish

  • Build self-confidence through rewards for excellence.

  • Provide role models & mentors for our youths by highlighting their achievements and the pursuit of excellence.

  • Develop and encourage leadership and life skills in young Scots
