Summary: The March will begin on14th November 2004
to generate public consciousness and mobilise

and education.

Movement for Elimination of Child Labour System

You are aware that CLAP, a Pro-Bono-Publico Group, initiated a special
movement under the nomenclature of “Right Path to Education” (RPE) in
Badamba Block of Cuttack district, Orissa, India from March 2004. RPE is a
comprehensive strategy to eliminate child labour system and promoting
primary education. The RPE follows a social engineering approach, which
aims at cent percent enrolment, retention and mainstreaming children for
securing Right to Education as guaranteed under Article 21 (A) of Indian
Constitution. It has taken a pledge to make Badamba, a child labour free
block by March 2006.

As a part of this movement we are organising a Padayatra (March) on 14th
November 2004 on occasion of Children’s Day to generate public
consciousness and mobilise public opinion over the issue of child labour
and education. The March shall be held for 11 days by a group of lawyers,
NSS students, and social activists under the leadership of veteran
Sarvodaya Leader Shri Shyam Sundar Das, covering all the 36 Gram
Panchayats of Badamba.

The March shall begin at 3 P.M on 14th November at Ratapata UGME School
Ground, Badamba, preceding a special programme for NCLP (Special)
School children of Badamba and culminates with a mega event at Kacheri
Padia, Badamba, at 10 A.M. on 24th November 04.

Considering your outstanding effort and contribution in this field, CLAP
feels it an opportunity to invite you to the event to participate and
highlight the cause for the best interest of these vulnerable children. You
can also join the Padayatra at any point of time and at any place (en
route) that is convenient to you. Details of programme and Route Chart
