Open-ended informal consultations on preparations for the first session of the Human Rights Council

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights invites all Permanent Missions in Geneva, United Nations departments and bodies, specialised agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations and has the honour to inform them that  open-ended informal consultations will be convened by the President-designate of the Human Rights Council, the Permanent Representative of Mexico, on preparations for the first session of the Council, on Tuesday, 23 May 2006, from 3.00 to 6.00 p.m. in conference room XX of the Palais des Nations. 

The agenda of the meeting will include the following: (1) preparatory activities for the first session of the Council; and (2) any other pertinent matters, including scheduling of further consultations in preparation for the first session.
