Migration: Left Behind - The impact of economic migration on children left behind and their families

The phenomenon of children left behind by migrating parents is underestimated and often unknown, despite concerning around half a million children in the European Union.

This conference seeks to fill this knowledge gap by addressing the issue of children left behind in their country of origin when parents move to another European country in search of employment, and in particular will look at the effects of migration on children and their families.

The event gathers experts from all over Europe (NGOs, academics, national institutions, research centres) to discuss with representatives of European institutions and the Council of Europe.

The event is free to attend.
