The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) will hold its 133rd session in Washington, D.C., from 15-31 October 2008. During the sessions, the IACHR will analyse petitions, cases and precautionary measures, as well as thematic and general reports on human rights. This case relates to the human rights violations of a domestic violence victim and her children by the State and police department, specifically the rights to life, non-discrimination, family life/unity, due process, and the right s of domestic violence victims and their children to special protections. The hearing will include the presentation of a child rights amicus brief.
