Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Session 6

Summary: The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will hold its sixth session from 19 - 23 September 2011.

Opportunities for child rights advocates

In addition to providing information on upcoming reviews by the Committee on the Rights of the Child (and indeed on the subsequent Concluding Observations issued), CRIN encourages children's rights advocates to use the full range of opportunities within the UN and regional human rights mechanisms to pursue children's rights advocacy.

Reporting to treaty bodies beyond the Committee on the Rights of the Child presents an opportunity for advocates to raise and press home children's rights issues.

States under Review

The following States are due to be examined by the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on the progress they have made in implementing the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD):

  • Spain
  • China
  • Peru
