Örebro Conference on the Rights of the Child, 30-31 May
(Örebro): the main theme of this conference, first of a series to
be organized during the Swedish presidency of the European
Union, is “Child Rights in Europe, Challenge and Responsibility”. A
number of sub-themes will be discussed; children and poverty,
Roma minorities, separated refugee children, sexually exploited
children and disabled children.

Government representatives, NGOs and researchers will be
invited. Delegations will consist of up to four people, with a total
of 100 participants.

The aim is to draft the Örebro Action Plan - a concrete plan of
action including measures for transforming the UN Convention on
the Rights of the Child into reality at both national and European
levels. The conference aims to be an opinion-forming event and
