Call for papers: 2012 Hague Conference - The Lubanga Trial - Lessons Learnt

Call for Papers 

The International Criminal Court Student Network (ICCSN) invites submissions for its 2012 Hague Conference: The Lubanga Trial - Lessons Learned.

This conference offers undergraduate, graduate and law students, and early professionals/academics (generally within five years of terminal degree) studying or working in the field of International Criminal Law an opportunity to both present and discuss their research.

Submissions should be focused on elements of the Lubanga trial OR The International Criminal Court (a small number of general ICC related papers will be accepted), Possible paper topics include, but are not limited to: 

  • Child soldiers in International Law
  • Victim Participation at the ICC
  • The Duty to Disclose
  • The Philosophical Dimensions of International Criminal Law & Global Justice
  • The Role of Civil Society
  • The Role of the United Nations
  • Interpreting the Rome Statute & The Elements of Crimes 

Submissions should be focused on the Lubanga Trial or the International Criminal Court. Invited speakers will be asked to prepare comments or a paper. A number of papers will be selected for publication in the ICCSN's journal, Issues in International Criminal Justice.
