International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

We are pleased to forward the invitation and flyer for the Commemoration of International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which will be held on 20 March at 18h15 at the Palais des Nations (Room XIV). 
 
 
The programme of the event will be as follows:
 
  • Screening of the movie "MANDELA LONG WALK TO FREEDOM" produced by Anant Singh, Thursday 20 March, 2014 at 18.15 in Palais des Nations, Room XIV (door XVII).
  • Panel discussion on the "The Role of Leaders in Mobilizing Political Will for Combatting Racism and Racial Discrimination" Friday, 21 March, 2014, at 13.15 -14.45 in Palais des Nations, Room XII. 
 
Panellists:
The panel will be opened by Navi Pillay, High Commissioner for Human Rights. Other panelist includes:
 
  • Mr. Ahmed Kathrada, South African anti-apartheid leader who spent 26 years in jail with Nelson Mandela;
  • Hon. Mrs. Emine Bozkurt, Member of the European Parliament, Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs;
  • Mr. Anant Singh, Producer of the movie "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and a number of anti - apartheid films made in South Africa.
